I completed by BA in the Department of PDN with Dr Alison Forhead, completing a dissertation on the effects of the vaginal microbiome in preterm labour. I then undertook an extended research project in the lab with Dr Billy Yung / Professor Steve Charnock-Jones looking at a genetic mouse model of ER stress during my clinical studies. I am currently participating in a multicentre retrospective study looking into the management and outcomes of appendicitis in pregnancy (MAMA study) that is due to be published later this year. I am very interested in the role of the placenta in health and disease, and hope to combine my research interests with my clinical work in future in the field of O&G.
