Natasha Preston

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the McGovern lab, investigating cellular communication at the maternal-fetal interface. My project involves co-culturing iPSC-derived macrophages with trophoblast and endometrial organoid models to explore how macrophages are regulated during placental development. 

Prior to joining the McGovern lab, I obtained an MSci (Hons) degree in Chemistry from the University of Nottingham and a PhD from the University of Surrey. My PhD project utilised molecular biology techniques and employed in vitro human skin equivalents (HSEs) to study the role of select herpes simplex virus type-1 (HSV-1) accessory proteins during the infection of human skin.
