Finance
The Loke CTR studentship covers tuition fees and provides a payment towards living costs. Additional funding supports your research and conference attendance.
The information below applies to studentships starting in October 2027.
Tuition fees and living costs
| Support | Full-time studentship |
|---|---|
| Tuition fees | Full University and College fees at the Home or Overseas rate |
| Living-cost payment | £22,000 per year |
| Funding duration | Four years |
The living-cost payment, also called a stipend or maintenance payment, helps cover accommodation, food and other everyday expenses.

The studentship also provides support for approved research and training expenses.
| Support | Amount and period |

| Research expenses and consumables | £15,000 over the studentship (£3,750 per year) |
| Travel for conference attendance | £750 over the studentship |
Visa and other arrival costs
For international students, the studentship covers the student visa application fee and Immigration Health Surcharge.
These costs are reimbursed after the student pays.
Other funding opportunities
Other Cambridge scholarships and studentships may support research with Loke CTR supervisors.
Check the eligibility rules, application requirements and deadlines for each award. Some require an application through the University’s Applicant Portal, while others require a separate form.
