Online attendance bursaries

The Loke Centre for Trophoblast Research is committed to ensuring that our Annual Meeting is as inclusive and accessible as possible. We recognise that financial constraints can be a barrier to participation, especially for students and researchers from under-resourced institutions or countries. To support accessibility, we offer a significantly subsidized registration fee of £25, for online attendance. This fee does not cover the full cost of participation, but we feel strongly that cost should not be a barrier to engagement with our community. In exceptional circumstances, we are able to waive the £25 registration fee for online participation. These bursaries are limited and intended for individuals for whom the fee represents a genuine barrier to attendance.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Limited access to institutional support or funding (such as students or early career researchers)
  • Living in a country or region where the registration fee represents a significant portion of average personal or household income
  • Other personal circumstances that may make the registration fee genuinely difficult to afford

Please do not apply for a bursary if you are able to pay the £25 fee. This helps us continue to offer subsidized registration for everyone. Bursaries are only available for online participation.

How to Apply: Eligible individuals may apply for a fee waiver by completing a short bursary request form by 20th June 2025: https://forms.microsoft.com/e/wJD1cHG83E

Annual Meeting Sponsor

The Loke Centre for Trophoblast Research is grateful to The Company of Biologists for supporting us in uniting trophoblast research with hybrid conference technology through their Scientific Meeting and Sustainable Conferencing funds.

By convening our online and in-person audiences, we aim to invite global perspectives and participation while minimising the environmental footprint of our meetings. Climate change is an urgent global crisis with dramatic consequences for health and reproduction. Simple software solutions that enable remote participation will enable the global reproductive biology research community to make sustainability central to our work.
