Membership of the Loke Centre for Trophoblast Research (Loke CTR) is open to researchers at the University of Cambridge and its affiliated institutions whose work aligns with our Grand Challenges.

Membership categories

Full Member PI

Principal Investigators (PIs) at the University of Cambridge who are invited to join the Loke CTR as Full Members based on their research alignment and active contribution to the Centre’s mission.

  • Eligibility to supervise Loke CTR PhD students

  • Eligibility to sponsor Next Generation Fellows (NGFs)

  • Access to the tissue bank, training, and facilities

  • Participation in internal events and the Annual Meeting

  • Complimentary registration for the virtual Placental Biology Course

  • Profile listed on the Loke CTR website directory

How to join: Full Member PIs are selected and invited to join the Centre by invitation only. Membership is reviewed every 3 years by the Loke CTR Board of Managers.

 


Associate PI

Group leaders at the University of Cambridge working in related fields who are interested in collaborating with Loke CTR researchers on projects related to Loke CTR Grand Challenges. Associate PIs are listed on our Associate PIs webpage and may act as second supervisors for Loke CTR PhD students.

Benefits include:

  • Eligibility to supervise Loke CTR PhD students as second supervisor

  • Participation in internal events and the Annual Meeting

  • Listed on the Associate PIs page of the Loke CTR website

  • Complimentary registration for the Annual Meeting

  • Access to the tissue bank, training, and facilities

Full Member (non-PI)

Early career researchers (including post doctoral fellows and graduate students) are invited to apply for full Loke CTR membership. Membership is intended to recognize researchers who make outsize contributions to the Loke CTR. It would be strongly encouraged for these members to contribute to Loke CTR core activities, for example teaching at the Placental Biology Course, hosting Loke CTR seminar speakers, contributing to the organisation of the Half Day Away or Journal Club, Chair sessions at the Away Day/Annual Meeting, join relevant organizing committees.

Next Generation Fellows and Loke CTR-funded PhD students are automatically full members.

Affiliate Member (non-PI)

All researchers who work in the group of Full Member Loke CTR PIs are automatically considered Loke CTR affiliate members. This includes students (Undergraduate, MPhil, PhD), postdoctoral researchers, and technicians. 

Benefits include:

  • Complimentary registration for the Annual Meeting

  • Participation in internal events (opt-in)

  • Access to the mailing list (opt-in via Sympa)

How to join: If you are part of a Full Member PI's research group, you are automatically eligible as an Affiliate Member. To subscribe to the mailing list, opt in via Sympa.

 


Honorary Member

Lifetime recognition for former Loke CTR Next Generation Fellows, Scientific Advisory Board members, and PIs.

How to join: Honorary Membership is offered by invitation only.

Former Loke CTR members who stay connected through our alumni mailing list, receiving biannual updates on news, activities, and events.
