Working within the McGovern lab I support lab management, manage and co-ordinate 1st trimester placenta collection and processing. Key techniques practiced include isolation and culture of Hofbauer cells and trophoblast cells, derivation of trophoblast and endometrial organoids, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry.
The McGovern lab research focuses on utilising a range of technologies (transcriptomics, epigenetics, organoids) to understand human mononuclear phagocytes, including dendritic cells, monocytes and macrophages in health and disease.
